Guns N' Roses
February 19th 1992
Tokyo Dome, Tokyo, Japan

Lineage: unknown mic > unknown DAT recorder > 2nd generation Maxell XL II 90 cassettes > Nakamichi CR-4 > ProCab CLA631/5 > Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 > Audacity > dED > WAV > FLAC

Notes: There are 2 known/circulating sources for this show. The first (1) is only available as part of the bootleg boxset 'Live In Japan - Three Days In Tokyo' released on the Metal Crash label in '92, which compiles one performance of every song played over the '92 three-night Tokyo Dome stand. The boxset features several tracks from the first night, but the complete source (1) has never surfaced.
The second (2) source for this show has been circulating for ages from a 2nd generation copy, but only in mono, and missing the first track. (This source was later bootlegged as 'Sodom' on the Aces High label, still in mono, still missing the first track, and remastered to shit, so completely useless and to be avoided.) All of our previous copies of this second source (2) have the first track 'Coma' tacked on to the front from source (1). The reason for this is a small cut / volume drop in that track in source (2).
Later, a stereo copy of source (2) surfaced on Dime, but it was still missing the first track (and claimed the first track was not recorded). Then, finally, a year or two ago I surfaced a complete stereo copy of source (2) on Dime, including the first track. It was an unknown generation copy, and it had a bit of hiss.
This torrent now presents an upgrade, for the very first time we have a known generation complete stereo copy of source (2) ! It's a clear upgrade over my previous copy, 2nd generation, hardly any hiss ! This is now the definitive version of source (2), at least until the master or 1st generation turns up somewhere.
Enjoy the wonder of the UYI Tour at its peak ! I 'grew up' with these three shows, the 'Live In Japan' boxset was one of the first bootlegs I had as a 10-year old kid back in '92 (+ 3rd night video of course), I religiously studied every second of it, and to this day I believe this three-night stand to be some of the best shows of the whole UYI Tour !
This also ranks as one of the best sounding audience recordings on the whole UYI Tour.

Technical note : On the original source (2) recording, one channel is way louder than the other. That is probably the reason our previous copies were folded down to mono. This issue was corrected here, the channels have been properly balanced. Because of this, you might notice a slightly louder 'noise floor' in the right channel, if you listen on headphones and turn it way up. In my book an easy compromise over an off-balance stereo field.
